How to choose suitable harness hanging fixtures and harness forks for harness engineers?

Source:XIYONG    Date:2026-06-09    Hits:11

The wire harness hanging fixture (fixture board hanging bracket/holder) and wire harness fork (fork/fork) are key auxiliary tools on the wire harness assembly fixture board. The selection is mainly determined by the wire harness topology structure, wire diameter thickness, branch node position, and operation ergonomics. Here are the specific selection ideas:

The hanging fixture is used to hang and fix the main/branch of the wire harness on the fixture board to prevent sagging, crossing and confusion.

1. Select the type according to the location of the wiring harness

Main section: Use ordinary fixed hanging clamps or branching clamps, with a spacing of generally 300-500mm to prevent loose wires.

Branch end: Select small fixed fork rods or elastic compression fasteners based on the size of the wire diameter.

Node/T-shaped junction: Priority should be given to retractable/movable hanging clamps (spring holders) to facilitate the operator's tape wrapping and buckle installation, without affecting the operation due to fixture obstruction.

Buckle/rubber component/positioning tape position: A specially designed imitation positioning fixture is required for corresponding fixation.

Key parameter verification

Slot width/opening: slightly larger than the outer diameter of the wire harness (usually leaving a margin of 1-2mm), too tight can damage the insulation skin, and too loose can easily slip off.

Load bearing: Single point load bearing ≥ 1.2 times the actual load (including the self weight of the wire harness and temporary tension during operation).

Anti slip design: Preferred clip with silicone pad or groove pattern to prevent vibration and loosening

Materials and Details

The main body is mostly made of aluminum alloy (lightweight) or chrome plated steel (wear-resistant), and the clamp is equipped with nylon/POM sheath or silicone sheath to prevent scratches on the wire skin.

Stainless steel spiral springs are used for spring components, with a required lifespan of over 50000 cycles.

High temperature zone (trial production of engine compartment wiring harness) requires high-temperature resistant alloys or flame-retardant plastics
