1、 The correct method of using a barometer

(1) Pre use inspection

Before using the barometer, it must be ensured that it is in good working condition. Check if the head of the pressure gauge is damaged, if the pointer can rotate flexibly, and if the connection is secure.

(2) Measurement operation

Positioning and connection: Align and press the measuring end slot of the pressure gauge with the tested equipment (such as tire valve) to ensure a tight connection and prevent air leakage.

Read the value: Observe the position indicated by the pressure gauge pointer and read the pressure value. Common units of air pressure include bar, psi, and kPa, and the appropriate unit should be selected according to equipment requirements.

Adjust air pressure: If the measured air pressure is lower than the standard value, use an inflation device to inflate the equipment; If the air pressure is too high, you can release the air by pressing the valve core.

(3) Precautions

Temperature effect: Air pressure will be affected by temperature. In summer, with higher temperatures, air pressure may increase; In winter, the temperature is lower and the air pressure may decrease. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the air pressure in a timely manner according to the season and actual situation.

2、 Maintenance method of barometer

(1) Cleaning and maintenance

Cleaning the case: If dust accumulates inside the barometer case, remove the cover, knock out the dust, and then use an air blower to blow off the remaining dust.

Cleaning the watch glass: When there is dust or dirt on the watch glass, it can be removed and cleaned with clean water, or wiped with cotton thread dipped in alcohol.

Cleaning the pressure hole: If there is dirt in the pressure hole, gasoline can be injected into the pressure hole with a needle, shaken and washed, and then thrown out. Repeat this process several times to clean it thoroughly.

(2) Installation and use

Installation position: The pressure gauge should be installed vertically, with an inclination generally not exceeding 30 °, and strive to be at the same level as the pressure measuring point to avoid indication errors.

Slow operation: When using, the valve should be slowly opened to gradually increase the pressure to the working position, to avoid instrument damage caused by pressure loss of control.

Usage environment: Avoid using the pressure gauge in humid and corrosive environments to avoid affecting its accuracy and service life.

(3) Regular verification

Calibration cycle: The pressure gauge should be calibrated regularly, usually once a year. During verification, it is necessary to configure a standard table and verification table that meet the accuracy requirements.

Maintenance and calibration: If the pressure gauge malfunctions, such as the pointer not returning to zero or jumping, it should be repaired by professionals and recalibrated.

3、 Common problems and solutions

(1) The pointer does not return to zero position

The pointer is bent or loose: it can be corrected with tweezers, verified, and then tightened.

Insufficient torque of the balance spring: The engagement between the central gear and the sector gear can be disengaged, and the central gear shaft can be rotated counterclockwise to increase the counter torque of the balance spring.

(2) The pointer jumps or freezes

It may be due to loose or blocked internal parts, which need to be disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled.

(3) The pressure gauge reading is inaccurate

It may be caused by changes in ambient temperature. The sealing rubber plug on the upper part of the watch case can be lifted upwards to allow the instrument cavity to communicate with the atmosphere, in order to calibrate the zero position.
